ORDINANCE NO. 2025-17 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL FAMILY PRESERVATION AND <br />SUPPORT PROGRAM FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $599 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND FOR DSS TO <br />PROVIDE COUNSELING, PROTECTIVE, RESIDENTIAL, AND <br />TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts additional Family Preservation and Support <br />Program funding in the amount of $599 from the Virginia Department of Social Services <br />and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by Department of Social Services to provide <br />counseling, protective, residential, and transportation services to eligible individuals. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Social Services Fund budget annually until expended in their entirety. <br />4. That a local match of 15.5% is required as a condition of the funding, <br />which match has previously been appropriated to the FY 2025 Social Services Fund <br />Budget. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund are increased by $599. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on February 25, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
