ORDINANCE NO. 2025-46 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A MARKETING LEVERAGE TOURISM GRANT IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $22,500 AND A DESTINATION MARKETING ORGANIZATION <br />TOURISM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA TOURISM <br />CORPORATION AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2025 GRANTS <br />FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSEUMS AND TOURISM FOR <br />MARKETING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts a Marketing Leverage Tourism grant in the amount of $22,500 and <br />a Destination Marketing Organization Tourism grant in the amount of $20,000 from the Virginia <br />Tourism Corporation and appropriates said funds in the FY 2025 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds so appropriated shall be used by the Department of Museums and <br />Tourism for marketing. <br />3. That a 1:1 local match is required as a condition of the Destination Marketing <br />Organization Tourism grant and a 2:1 local match is required as a condition of the Marketing <br />Leverage Tourism grant, all of which local matching funds have been previously appropriated to <br />the Department of Museums and Tourism in the adopted FY 2026 General Fund budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $42,500. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on June <br />24, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
