ORDINANCE NO. 2024-127 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />PERFORMANCE GRANT FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $57,992 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />TO IMPROVE DISASTER PREPARATION, RESPONSE AND RECOVERY IN <br />THE CITY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Emergency Management Performance Grant <br />funding in the amount of $57,992 from the Virginia Department of Emergency <br />Management and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be utilized by the Department of Fire, Rescue <br />and Emergency Services to improve disaster preparation, response and recovery in the <br />city. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $57,992. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 12, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
