ORDINANCE NO. 2024-126 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING RADIOLOGICAL EMERGENCY <br />PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $700 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE PORTSMOUTH DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program <br />funds in the amount of $700 from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management <br />and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be utilized by the Portsmouth Department of <br />Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services to maintain its HAZMAT team's capacity to <br />respond to nuclear or radiological incidents. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $700. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 12, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
