ORDINANCE NO. 2024-60 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING STATE OF GOOD REPAIR GRANT FUNDING <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2024 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR THE PAVING OF PORTIONS OF AIRLINE BOULEVARD, <br />EFFINGHAM STREET AND GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGHWAY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts State of Good Repair grant funding in the amount of <br />$1,500,000 from the Virginia Department of Transportation and appropriates said funds in <br />the FY 2024 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used for the paving of portions of Airline Boulevard, <br />Effingham Street and George Washington Highway. <br />3. That the project name is the "City FY 2023 Mill and Overlay Project" and <br />is anticipated to cost $3,017,013. The sum of $1,500,000 will be funded by the State of <br />Good Repair grant funding, and the balance ($1,517,013 in local funding) has been <br />previously set aside in the FY 2024 Operating Budget and does not require additional <br />appropriation. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2024 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $1,500,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 25, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
