AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING PUBLIC UTILITY FUND BALANCE IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $1,370,000 TO THE FY 2024 PUBLIC UTILITY FUND <br />BUDGET AND TRANSFERRING SAID AMOUNT TO THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />SECTION OF THE FY 2024 GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE PAYMENT <br />OF ONE-TIME PERSONNEL SUPPLEMENTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it appropriates Public Utility Fund Balance in the amount of <br />$1,370,000 to the FY 2024 Public Utility Fund Budget. <br />2. That it transfers said amount from the FY 2024 Public Utility Fund Budget <br />to the Sheriff's Office section of the FY 2024 General Fund Budget. <br />3. That the purpose of the funding so appropriated and transferred is to <br />provide a one-time supplement to Sheriff's Office employees. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2024 Public Utilities <br />Fund Budget are increased by $1,370,000. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the Sheriff s Office section of <br />the FY 2024 General Fund Budget are increased by $1,370,000. <br />6. That the City Manager is authorized to enter into a Memorandum of <br />Understanding with the Sheriff regarding the provision of the supplement and the duties <br />to be performed by the Sheriffs Office. <br />7. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 10, 2023. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
