w 2022 -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $471,984 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND <br />BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING SIX FULL -TIME SCHOOL <br />RESOURCE OFFICERS FROM THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $471,984 from the Virginia <br />Department of Criminal Justice Services and appropriates said funds in the FY 2023 Grants <br />Fund. <br />2. That the grant funds shall be used by the Sheriffs Office to fund six (6) full - <br />time School Resource Officers. <br />3. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $471,984. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 9, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
