&F. µ 12022 -86 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,285 FROM <br />THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION <br />THROUGH THE VIRGINIA HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY <br />THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR TRAFFIC SAFETY INITIATIVES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $25,285 from the U.S. <br />Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through <br />the Virginia Highway Safety Office and appropriates said funds in the FY 2023 Grants <br />Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Portsmouth Police Department <br />for traffic safety initiatives. <br />3. That an in -kind match of $12,643 is required as a condition of the grant, <br />which match will be satisfied by previously budgeted funding in the FY 2023 General <br />Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $25,285. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 27, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
