t? 2022 -85 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,607 FROM <br />THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION <br />THROUGH THE VIRGINIA HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO REDUCE DRIVING UNDER THE <br />INFLUENCE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />I. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $31,607 from the U.S. <br />Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through <br />the Virginia Highway Safety Office and appropriates said funds in the FY 2023 Grants <br />Fund. <br />2. That the grant will be used by the Portsmouth Police Department to reduce <br />Driving Under the Influence and for other eligible uses under the grant terms. <br />3. That an in -kind local match of $15,804 is required as a condition of the <br />grant, which match will be satisfied by previously budgeted funding in the FY 2023 <br />General Fund budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $31,607. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 27, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
