001NMCE No a 2022-09 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING MUNICIPAL UTILITY ASSISTANCE <br />PROGRAM FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $358,129.64 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE FY 2022 GRANTS FUND FOR <br />APPLICATION TO ELIGIBLE PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT <br />CUSTOMER ACCOUNT ARREARAGES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Municipal Utility Assistance Program funding in <br />the amount of $358,129.64 from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community <br />Development and appropriates said funds in the FY 2022 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be applied to eligible customer account <br />arrearages by the Department of Public Utilities. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2022 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $358,129.64. <br />5.
