�� 020 -42 AN ORDINANCE (1) ACCEPTING VIRGINIA TREES FOR CLEAN WATER GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT INTO THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND AND (2) TRANSFERRING $3,000 FROM THE PARKS, RECREATION AND TOURISM SECTION OF THE FY 2020 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND BUDGET TO SERVE AS THE REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH FOR THE SAID GRANT. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That it accepts Virginia Trees for Clean Water Grant funds in the amount of $4,000 from the Virginia Department of Forestry and appropriates said amount into the FY 2020 Grants Fund. 2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism for the planting of trees at Paradise Creek Nature Park. 3. That the grant requires a local match of $4,000 in cash or in -kind services. 4. That it transfers the sum of $3,000 from the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism section of the FY 2020 General Fund Budget and appropriates said amount into the FY 2020 Grants Fund Budget to serve as part of the local match. 5. That the balance of local match will be satisfied through in -kind services provided by volunteers from the Elizabeth River Project and the Virginia Cooperative Extension working with Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism staff on the tree planting project. 6. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund Budget are increased by $7,000. 7. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism section of the FY 2020 General Fund Budget are decreased by $3,000. 8. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on May 26, 2020. Teste: City Clerk
