����� 020 -42 <br />AN ORDINANCE (1) ACCEPTING VIRGINIA TREES FOR CLEAN WATER <br />GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT INTO <br />THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND AND (2) TRANSFERRING $3,000 FROM THE <br />PARKS, RECREATION AND TOURISM SECTION OF THE FY 2020 GENERAL <br />FUND BUDGET TO THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND BUDGET TO SERVE AS <br />THE REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH FOR THE SAID GRANT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts Virginia Trees for Clean Water Grant funds in the amount <br />of $4,000 from the Virginia Department of Forestry and appropriates said amount into the <br />FY 2020 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Parks, <br />Recreation and Tourism for the planting of trees at Paradise Creek Nature Park. <br />3. That the grant requires a local match of $4,000 in cash or in -kind services. <br />4. That it transfers the sum of $3,000 from the Department of Parks, <br />Recreation and Tourism section of the FY 2020 General Fund Budget and appropriates <br />said amount into the FY 2020 Grants Fund Budget to serve as part of the local match. <br />5. That the balance of local match will be satisfied through in -kind services <br />provided by volunteers from the Elizabeth River Project and the Virginia Cooperative <br />Extension working with Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism staff on the tree <br />planting project. <br />6. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $7,000. <br />7. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the Department of Parks, <br />Recreation and Tourism section of the FY 2020 General Fund Budget are decreased by <br />$3,000. <br />8. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 26, 2020. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
