-125 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 24 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (GAMBLING) BY <br />AMENDING SECTION 24 -131 (DEFINITIONS) AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS <br />24 -140 AND 24 -141 FOR THE PURPOSE OF AUTHORIZING THE ACTIVITIES <br />OF LICENSED CASINO GAMING ESTABLISHMENTS AND LICENSED <br />SPORTS BETTING PLATFORMS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it amends and reordains Article IV of Chapter 24 of the Code of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia (Gambling) by amending Section 24 -131 (Definitions) and <br />adding new, Sections 24 -140 and 24 -141 as shown on Exhibit A hereto for the purpose of <br />authorizing the activities of licensed casino gaming operators and licensed sports betting <br />platforms. <br />That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on November 24, 2020. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
