LJ O 219 - <br />UR <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $57,992 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR <br />EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, AND TRAINING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Local Emergency Management Program grant in <br />the amount of 557,992 from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and <br />appropriates said sum in the FY 2020 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue, <br />and Emergency Services for emergency management equipment, supplies, and training. <br />3. That a dollar for dollar match is required for receipt of the funds, which <br />match has previously been appropriated in the FY 2020 General Fund Budget for the <br />Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $57,992. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 22, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
