RUjn� M 2 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AID -TO- LOCALITIES FUNDING IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $347,953 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF FIRE <br />PROGRAMS AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2020 GRANTS <br />FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Aid -To- Localities funding in the amount of <br />$347,953 from the Virginia Department of Fire Programs and appropriates said sum in <br />the FY 2020 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue <br />and Emergency Services to support fire and emergency services in the City, including <br />through fire safety education programs, cancer prevention initiatives, training, equipment <br />and protective clothing. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $347,953. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 22, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
