ORDNANCE 2019 -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADOPTION AND LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP <br />INCENTIVE PAYMENTS PROGRAM FUNDING FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000 AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2020 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND <br />TO ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT ADOPTION AND LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Adoption and Legal Guardianship Incentive <br />Payments Program funding from the Virginia Department of Social Services in the <br />amount of $5,000 and appropriates said amount in the FY 2020 Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services to <br />encourage and support adoption and legal guardianship. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $5,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 27, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
