L2 2%! <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN EMPLOYMENT FOR TANF <br />PARTICIPANTS GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $122,269 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES, APPROPRIATING SAID <br />FUNDS IN THE FY 2020 GRANTS FUND, AND TRANSFERRING $12,288.96 <br />FROM THE FY 2020 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND TO THE FY 2020 GRANTS <br />FUND, ALL FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO <br />ASSIST TANF PARTICIPANTS WITH PREPARING TO ENTER THE <br />WORKFORCE AND MAINTAINING EMPLOYMENT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an Employment for TANF Participants grant in the <br />amount of S 122,269 and appropriates said funds in the FY 2020 Grants Fund for use by <br />the Department of Social Services. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services to assist <br />TANF participants with preparing to enter the workforce and maintaining employment. <br />3. That a local match of $40,756.56 is required as a condition of the grant, <br />which match will be satisfied through $28,467.60 in in -kind services provided by the <br />Department of Social Services and a cash match of $12,288.96 that has previously been <br />budgeted as part of the FY 2020 Social Services Fund budget. <br />4. That it hereby transfers the cash match in the amount of $12,288.96 from <br />the FY 2020 Social Services Fund to the FY 2020 Grants Fund for use by the Department <br />of Social Services. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $134,557.96. <br />6. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Social Services <br />Fund are decreased by $12,288.96. <br />7. That this ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 2019. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 11, 2019. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
