2018-27 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A VIRGINIA TREES FOR CLEAN WATER <br />PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,300 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE <br />FY 2018 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, <br />RECREATION & LEISURE SERVICES FOR THE PLANTING OF TREES <br />ALONG CITY ROADWAYS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Virginia Trees for Clean Water Program grant in <br />the amount of $3,300 from the Virginia Department of Forestry and appropriates said <br />funds in the FY 2018 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Parks, Recreation & <br />Leisure Services for the planting of trees along city roadways. <br />3. That the grant requires a local cash or in -kind match in the amount of <br />$3,300, which match will be satisfied either by in -kind efforts of staff and volunteers <br />from the Virginia Cooperative Extension or by previously budgeted Parks, Recreation & <br />Leisure Services /Parks Division funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $3,300. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on April 24, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
