BROWN N <br />201�r <br />AN ORDINANCE (1) AMENDING THE EDUCATION CATEGORY OF THE FY <br />2018 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND BUDGET TO ESTABLISH A NEW <br />PROJECT TITLED "SCHOOL SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ", (2) <br />APPROPRIATING $1,000,000 FROM THE FY 2018 UNASSIGNED GENERAL <br />FUND BALANCE TO THE FY 2018 GENERAL FUND, AND (3) <br />TRANSFERRING $1,000,000 FROM THE FY 2018 GENERAL FUND TO THE <br />SCHOOL SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN THE EDUCATION <br />CATEGORY OF THE FY 2018 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND BUDGET. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby amends the Education Category of the FY 2018 Capital <br />Improvement Fund budget to establish a new project called the School Safety <br />Improvements Project. <br />2. That it appropriates the sum of $1,000,000 from the FY 2018 Unassigned <br />General Fund Balance to the FY 2018 General Fund. <br />3. That it authorizes the transfer of said $1,000,000 from the FY 2018 <br />General Fund to the School Safety Improvements Project in the Education Category of <br />the FY 2018 Capital Improvement Fund budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 General Fund <br />Budget are increased by $1,000,000. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the School Safety Project in <br />the Education Category of the FY 2018 Capital Improvement Fund Budget are increased <br />by $1,000,000. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on April 24, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
