AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDING FROM THE UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE THROUGH THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $45,005.63 AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2018 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND <br />FOR THE ELEVATE SNAP EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PILOT <br />PROJECT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts funding from the United States Department of <br />Agriculture through the Virginia Department of Social Services in the amount of <br />$45,005.63 and appropriates said amount in the FY 2018 Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services to fund <br />the EleVAte SNAP Employment and Training Pilot Project. <br />3. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $45,005.63. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on April 24, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
