2018 71 <br />ORD a--- <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,709.70 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2018 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION & LEISURE SERVICES FOR THE <br />USDA SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth received USDA Summer Food Service <br />Program reimbursement funding through the Virginia Department of Health for Recreation <br />Summer RAYS meals served on June 19 -22, 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds were expended in FY 2018 but it was not possible to <br />appropriate the reimbursement funding prior to the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2018); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to retroactively appropriate the reimbursement funding <br />in the FY 2018 Grants Fund, effective as of June 30, 2018; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $10,709.70 from the Virginia <br />Department of Health and appropriates said amount in the FY 2018 Grants Fund for use <br />by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services for the USDA Summer Food <br />Service Program. <br />2. That the grant is a reimbursement grant, and no City cash match is required. <br />3. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $10,709.70. <br />4. That this ordinance shall be deemed to have taken effect as of June 30, 2018. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 14, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
