9RDM w 2PJZ 67— <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$2999155 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2019 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND <br />FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO ADDRESS THE <br />INCREASED VOLUME OF MEDICAID APPLICATIONS ANTICIPATED AS A <br />RESULT OF MEDICAID EXPANSION. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts additional funding in the amount of $299,155 from <br />the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates said funds in the FY 2019 <br />Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services to address <br />the increased volume of Medicaid applications anticipated as a result of Medicaid <br />expansion. <br />3. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2019 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $299,155. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 24, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
