2018-36 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A SUPPLEMENTAL LOCAL EMERGENCY <br />MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,330 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2018 GRANTS FUND FOR <br />USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING TO PURCHASE, MAINTAIN <br />AND INSTALL FLOOD SENSORS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Supplemental Local Emergency Management <br />Performance grant in the amount of $6,330 from the Virginia Department of Emergency <br />Management and appropriates said amount in the FY 2018 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Engineering to <br />purchase, install and maintain flood sensors. <br />3. That a dollar for dollar local match is required as a condition of the grant, <br />which match has been previously appropriated in the General Fund budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $6,330. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 22. 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
