ORO= r ..,., <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A BYRNE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $9,120 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN <br />THE FY 2018 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT FOR THE NALOXONE PROGRAM TO COMBAT OPIOID <br />OVERDOSES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Byrne Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of <br />$9,120 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and appropriates said <br />funds in the FY 2018 Grants Fund for use by the Portsmouth Police Department. <br />2. That the grant funds shall be used for the Naloxone program to combat <br />opioid overdoses. <br />3. That no local match is required for the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2018 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $9,120. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 14, 2017. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
