~~ ~~' A, :. ~i~~ ~~~.~ 201:-~~!11 <br />~~ad.~~c fw~. ate,,.-~~< - <br />.~-: <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A RESCUE SQUAD <br />ASSISTANCE FUND GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,100 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA .OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND FOR <br />USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND EMERGENCY <br />SERVICES TO PURCHASE A HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEM FOR PATIENT <br />STRETCHERS AND TO TRAIN EMS FIELD TRAINING OFFICERS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Rescue Squad Assistance Fund grant in the <br />amount of $33,100 from the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services and <br />appropriates said funds in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue, and <br />Emergency Services to purchase a hydraulic lift system for patient stretches and to train <br />EMS Field Training Officers. <br />3. That the grant requires a 50% match for the hydraulic lift systems and a <br />20% match for the employee training which matches have been appropriated as part of <br />the FY 2014-15 Operating Budget for the Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services <br />Department. <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund and the FY 2014- <br />15Operating Budget are increased by $33,100. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 25, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
