2014.-95_ <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A PORT SECURITY GRANT <br />FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $22,750 AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2014-15 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE <br />DIVE EQUIPMENT AND TO PROVIDE DIVE TEAM TRAINING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an FY 2016 Port Security grant from the U.S. <br />Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $22,750 and appropriates said funds in <br />the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the grant shall be used by the Portsmouth Police Department to purchase <br />dive equipment and to provide dive team training. <br />3. That no City match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Operating Budget and in the FY <br />2014-15 Grants Fund are increased by $22,750. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />October 28, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
