1.~ `, .2.014-79 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $54,616 FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE-BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND TO <br />PURCHASE BULLETPROOF VESTS FOR PORTSMOUTH POLICE OFFICERS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $54,616 from the U.S. <br />Department of Justice-Bureau of Justice Assistance and appropriates said amount in the FY <br />2014-15 Grants Fund to purchase bulletproof vests for Portsmouth police officers. <br />2. That the grant will reimburse 50% of the City's costs to purchase the <br />bulletproof vests. <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Operating Budget and in the FY <br />2014-15 Grants fund are increased by $54,616. <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />September 9, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
