<br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $42,221 FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NATIONAL HIGHWAY <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION THROUGH THE VIRGINIA <br />HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE <br />FY 2014-15 .GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT TO DETER ALCOHOL USAGE WHILE DRIVING: <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $42,221 from the U.S. <br />Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through <br />the Virginia Highway Safety Office and appropriating said funds in the FY 2014-15 <br />Grants Fund. <br />2. That the -grant will be used for education and enforcement regarding <br />Driving Under the Influence of alcohol. <br />3. That an in-kind match of $21,110.50 is required as a condition of the <br />grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Operating Budget and in the <br />FY 2014-15 Grants fund are increased by $42,221. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 9, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
