~~ 2014-61 ` <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $174,600 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF <br />HOMELAND SECURITY AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY <br />2014-15 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE <br />AND EMERGENCY SERVICES TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORT <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND FIRE SUPPRESSION ACTIVITIES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $174,600 from the U.S. <br />Department of Homeland Security and appropriates said funds in the FY 2014-15 Grants <br />Fund. <br />2. That the grant funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue, and <br />Emergency Services to purchase equipment to support emergency medical and fire <br />suppression activities. <br />3. That a 10% local match is required for the grant funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund and the FY 2014- <br />15 City Operating Budget are increased by $174,600. <br />That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 12, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
