<br />ARTICLE II. FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS GENERALLY <br /> <br />Sec. 15.1-11. Application of article to temporary food establishments. <br /> <br />A temporary food establishment shall comply with all sections of this article which are <br />applicable to its operation; except, that the director may modify specific requirements for physical <br />facilities when, in the director's opinion, no imminent health hazard will result. The director may <br />augment the requirements of this article as to temporary food establishments when needed to assure <br />the service of safe food and may prohibit the sale of certain potentially hazardous food at such <br />establishments. <br /> <br />Sec. 15.1-12. Submission and approval of plans and specifications for construction or <br />alteration. <br /> <br />Plans and specifications for the construction of new food establishments or of major <br />alterations or additions in the construction or arrangement of the premises of any food establishment <br />shall be submitted to the director. A plan review fee for new or extensively renovated food <br />establishments and for minor renovations shall be paid to the Heath Department. Approval in <br />writing of such plans and specifications must be given by either the director, the director of health <br />services or the director of environmental health. <br /> <br />Sec. 15.1-13. Approval of structural alterations or additions. <br /> <br />(a) Any changes, alterations or additions in the structure or arrangement of the premises <br />of a food establishment or of the equipment therein must be approved, in writing and after a <br />personal inspection of the premises, by the director of public health or an authorized representative <br />thereof. <br /> <br />(b) The maintenance and repair of premises or equipment necessary for sanitary <br />operation are excluded from the provision of this section. <br /> <br />Sec. 15.1-14. <br />issuance; refusal. <br /> <br />Operating permit--Required; application; inspection prerequisite to <br /> <br />(a) No person shall operate a food establishment within the city who does not possess a <br />permit issued by the director, wherein the applicant shall agree to conform to the ordinances, rules <br />and regulations governing such places and to permit such examination and inspections as may be <br />deemed necessary by the director. A permit fee shall be paid by the applicant to the health <br />department. Application for such permit shall be made in writing on a form prescribed by the <br />director, wherein the applicant shall agree to conform to the ordinances, rules and regulations <br />governing such places and to permit such examination and inspections as may be deemed necessary <br />by the director of public health. Upon issuance, the permit shall be posted in a conspicuous place so <br />that it may be viewed by the public. <br />
