<br /> <br />NV.20!1-?3". <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $46,896 FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />ADMINISTRATION THROUGH THE VIRGINIA HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2011-12 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT FOR A COMPREHENSIVE SPEED, DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, AND <br />PASSENGER AND COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT <br />ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth that: <br /> <br />1. The City Council accepts a grant in the amount of $46,896 from the U.S. Department of <br />Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through the Virginia Highway Safety <br />Office and appropriates said funds in the FY 2011-12 Grants Fund. <br /> <br />2. The grant funds will be used by the Police Department for a comprehensive speed, driving <br />under the influence (DUI), and passenger and commercial motor vehicle occupant restraint enforcement <br />prograrn. <br /> <br />3. As a condition of the grant, the City is required to provide an in-kind match of$9,379.20. <br /> <br />4. Estimated revenues in the FY 2011-12 Grants Fund are increased by $46,896. <br /> <br />5. This ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on September <br />27,2011. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
