<br />__1ID-2011-7~_ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,039 UNDER THE <br />FEDERAL CHILD WELFARE AND ADOPTION ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1980 FROM <br />THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2011-12 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND TO PROVIDE <br />TRAINING FOR FOSTER CARE WORKERS AND ADOPTIVE PARENTS AND <br />FAMILIES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth that: <br /> <br />1. The City Council accepts a grant in the amount of $60,039 under the federal Child <br />Welfare and Adoption Assistance Act of 1980 from the Virginia Department of Social Services <br />and appropriates said funds in the FY 2011-12 Social Services Fund. <br /> <br />2. The grant funds will be used by the Social Services Department to provide <br />training and educational classes to foster and adoptive parents/families and to provide training to <br />new and existing workers. <br /> <br />3. As a condition of the grant, the City is required to provide a cash match of <br />$114,961.00 which was appropriated in the Social Services Fund as part of the adoption of the <br />City's FY 2011-12 operating budget. <br /> <br />4. <br />$60,039. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Estimated revenues in the FY 2011-12 Social Services Fund are increased by <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmotlth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />September 27, 2011. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
