<br />Year 5 - July 1,2014 to June 30, 2015 <br /> <br />$325,000 <br /> <br />Payments shall be made on or before the first day of each month, commencing July 1, <br /> <br />2010, and they shall be made either through electronic funds transfer or otherwise so that they <br />arrive on or before the due date, <br /> <br /> <br />5, Hours of Operation. The Facility shall be open to the public for the purpose of <br /> <br /> <br />retrieval or adoption of animals during reasonable hours six days a week, except on holidays or <br /> <br /> <br />during weather or other emergencies, The Facility may be closed one day per month for <br /> <br />maintenance. If additional closure time is needed for maintenance, the Humane Society shall <br /> <br />make prior written request of the City, and any such request shall not be unreasonably denied, <br /> <br />6. Simultaneous Service as Animal Shelter. The Humane Society may simultaneously <br /> <br /> <br />operate the Facility as an Animal Shelter as contemplated by Virginia Code ~3.2-6548, for which <br /> <br /> <br />activity it shall not receive compensation from the City, In this capacity, it may accept animals <br /> <br /> <br />from citizens who desire to be relieved of them for any reason ("Private Custodial Animals"), <br /> <br />and it may provide custodial services for said animals, <br /> <br />7, Records, <br /> <br />A. The Humane Society shall maintain separate records for City Custodial Animals and <br /> <br />Private Custodial Animals. The City shall be entitled to inspect and review said records at all <br /> <br />reasonable times, <br /> <br />B. The Humane Society shall provide quarterly reports to the City that will include at <br />least the following information: <br /> <br />1, Number of City Custodial Animals received, identified by type of animal. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Number of Private Custodial Animals received, identified by type of animal. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
