<br /> <br />..30,09...-96.. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,925.80 <br />FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND TO APPROPRIATE <br />SAID SUM IN THE FY 2009-2010 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR OVERTIME PAY AND FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT TO BE USED TO ENFORCE <br />COMPREHENSIVE SPEED, DUI, AND PASSENGER VEHICLE AND <br />COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT LAWS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That accepts a grant in the amount of $48,925.80 from the Virginia <br />Department of Motor Vehicles and appropriates said sum in the FY 2009-2010 Grants <br />Fund for use by the Portsmouth Police Department for police overtime pay and for the <br />purchase of equipment to be used to enforce comprehensive speed, driving under the <br />influence (DUI), and passenger and commercial motor vehicle occupant restraint laws. <br /> <br />2. That estimated revenues in the FY 2009-2010 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $48,925.80. <br /> <br />3. That an in-kind match of$9,785.16 by the City is required. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 13,2009. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
