<br />_~.lt~009=,~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $654,981 <br />FROM THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT <br />OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2009-2010 <br />ECONOMIC STIMULUS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT FORTECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it accepts a grant in the amount of$654,98l from the U.S. Bureau of <br />Justice Assistance of the Department of Justice for use by the Portsmouth Police <br />Department for technology and equipment; and <br /> <br />2. That said funds are appropriated in the FY 2009-2010 Economic Stimulus <br />Fund, and estimated revenues in said Fund are increased by $654,981. <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on August 25,2009. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
