<br />Sec. 40-50.18. Signs. <br /> <br />Within the required Design Standards for each project located within the W-l <br />district a section shall be devoted to signage necessary for the project. That section shall <br />include the folloVv'ing: <br /> <br />Size and number of entrance signs <br /> <br />11 Size and number of freestanding signs <br /> <br />III Size and number of building signs <br /> <br />IV Size and number of all marquee, awning and projecting signs <br /> <br />V Materials and colors of each type of sign <br /> <br />VI Location of all signs <br /> <br />V11 Methods of illumination of all signs <br /> <br />Vlll Type, number, location and size of all banners and flags <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the provisions of this section or any provisions of the entire chapter, the <br />City of Portsmouth may install and or erect signs along the seawall as is deemed <br />necessary for the purposes of welcoming visitors, or announcing coming events. <br /> <br />Sec. 40-50.19. Waterfront District; parking and loading. <br /> <br />Because of the unique parking issues and limitations created by an urban <br />environment, the following off-street parking and parking landscaping/screening <br />requirements shall apply in the Waterfront W-l District: <br /> <br />(a) <br />follows: <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />(4) <br />(5) <br />(6) <br /> <br />Quantities of off-street parking and loading spaces shall be provided as <br /> <br />Multifamily: One space per unit <br />Office use: Four spaces per net floor area or 2.5 spaces based on gross <br />Jloor area. <br />Eating establishments and restaurants: Seven spaces per 1000 gross <br />square footage <br />Entertainment establishments: 20 spaces per 1000 gross square footage <br />Hotel or Motels: .9 space per room <br />Marinas: One space per 2 slips <br />
