<br /> ORDINANCE NO.2g~~83* <br />AN ORDINANCE TO RENEW THE CITY'S CABLE FRANCHISE WITH COX <br />COMMUNICATIONS HAMPTON ROADS, L.L.c., ALLOWING THE <br />COMPANY TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A CABLE SYSTEM <br />IN THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That Cox Communications Hampton Roads, L.L.C., has proposed a <br />renewal of its cable franchise pursuant to sections 15.2-2108.21 and 15.2-2108.22 of the <br />Code of Virginia. <br />2. That, pursuant to Sections 15.2-2108.21, et seq., of the Code of Virginia <br />(1950), as amended, the City Council hereby grants a Cable Franchise to Cox <br />Communications Hampton Roads, L.L.C., to construct, operate, and maintain a cable <br />system in the City of Portsmouth pursuant to the terms outlined in Exhibit 1, entitled <br />"Cable Franchise," on file in the offices of the City Clerk and the City Attorney. <br />3. That the City Manager is authorized to execute said Cable Franchise on <br />behalf of the City of Portsmouth. <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on December 9, 2008. <br /> Teste: <br /> City Clerk <br />
