<br /> ORDINANCE NO.}.QP~.2* <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,025.51 <br />FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BUREAU OF JUSTICE <br />ASSIST ANCE AND TO APPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2008-2009 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING 50% FUNDING FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF BULLETPROOF VESTS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />AND SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That the City hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $4,025.51 from the <br />U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance and appropriates said amount in <br />the FY 2008-2009 Grants Fund. <br />2. That said funds shall be used to provide a 50% funding for the purchase of <br />bulletproof vests for Police Department and Sheriff s Department personnel who work on <br />the streets. <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2008-2009 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $4,025.51. <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on December 9, 2008. <br /> Teste: <br /> City Clerk <br />
