<br />ORDINANCE III. 2 ~ Q 8 -7 ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $136,424 <br />FROM THE 2007 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM OF <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2008-2009 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE, AND EMERGENCY SERVICES TO <br />PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $136,424 from the 2007 <br />Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program of the U. S. Department of Homeland Security <br />for use by the Department of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services to purchase <br />firefighting equipment. <br /> <br />2. That said grant includes a local match of $27,285 which shall be provided <br />from FY 2008-2009 Fire Program funds. <br /> <br />Fund. <br /> <br />3. That the sum of $136,424 is appropriated in the FY 2008-2009 Grants <br /> <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2008-2009 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $136,424. <br /> <br />4.
