<br />ORDItWII_. ~~64 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $170,923 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2008-2009 GRANTS FUND <br />FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE, AND EMERGENCY <br />SERVICES TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR THE FOUR LOCALITIES <br />COMPRISING THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SOUTHSIDE TIDEWATER <br />TEAM. . <br />,.1 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $170,923 from the Virginia <br />Department of Emergency Management for use by the Department of Fire, Rescue, and <br />Emergency Services to purchase equipment for the four localities comprising the <br />Hazardous Materials Southside Tidewater Team. <br /> <br />2. That authorization to expend said funds is expressly contingent upon the <br />execution of a Memorandum of Understanding by each of the member localities. <br /> <br />3. That the sum of $170,923 is appropriated in the FY 2008-2009 Grants <br /> <br />Fund. <br /> <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2008-2009 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $170,923. <br /> <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 23, 2008. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
