<br />ORDINAtU 10.20 0 S~~. ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $147,236 <br />FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID <br />AMOUNT IN THE FY 2008-2009 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT FOR CONTINUED OPERATION OF THE WEED AND SEED <br />PROGRAM. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $147,236 from the U.S. <br />Department of Justice for use by the Police Department for continued operation of the <br />Weed and Seed Program. <br /> <br />2. That the sum of $147,236 is appropriated in the FY 2008-2009 Grants <br /> <br />Fund. <br /> <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2008-2009 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $147,236. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 23, 2008. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
