<br />ORDINAIU 10. 2006.:-,6 0 ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,534.25 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2008-2009 GRANTS FUND FOR <br />USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR OVERTIME <br />PAYMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT IN VARIOUS MOTOR <br />VEHICLE-RELATED AREAS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $48,534.25 from the <br />Virginia Department of Motor Vehic1es for use by the Police Department for overtime <br />payment and law enforcement equipment in the areas of Comprehensive Driving under <br />the Influence (DUI), Speeding, and Passenger and Commercial Motor Vehicle Occupant <br />Restraint enforcement. <br /> <br />Fund. <br /> <br />2. That the sum of $48,534.25 is appropriated in the FY 2008-2009 Grants <br /> <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2008-2009 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $48,534.25. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 9, 2008. <br /> <br />Teste; <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
