<br />URDINANCE IIt~o8-~~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF <br />AGRICUL TURE (USDA) IN THE AMOUNT OF $650,000 AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE 2007-2008 GRANTS FUND <br />OPERATING BUDGET FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, <br />RECREA TION, AND LEISURE SERVICES FOR THE 2008 USDA SUMMER <br />FOOD PROGRAM. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it accepts a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the <br />amount of $650,000 to be used by the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Leisure <br />Services for the 2008 USDA Summer Food Program. <br /> <br />2. That the sum of $650,000 is appropriated in the 2007-2008 Grants Fund <br />()perating Budget, and revenues in said Fund are increased by $650,000. <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 24, 2008. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
