<br /> <br />:~;f':.;"~. <br /> <br /> <br />t.~ e 200 :.:.1.0,,1 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,653.94 <br />FROM THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT <br />OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING THE SAME AMOUNT IN THE FY 2007- <br />2008 GRANTS FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF BULLETPROOF VESTS BY <br />THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it accepts a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the U. S. <br />Department of Justice in the amount of $5,653.94 to reimburse the City for 50% of costs <br />incurred in the purchase of bulletproof vests. <br /> <br />2. That the sum of $5,653.94 is hereby appropriated in the FY 2007-2008 <br />Grants Fund for said purpose. <br /> <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2007-2008 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $5,653.94. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 27, 2007. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
