<br />ORIIWG- ~OO~,. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $46,166 FROM <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND APPROPRIATING <br />THE SAME AMOUNT IN THE FY 2007-2008 GRANTS FUND FOR <br />COMPREHENSIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT OF VIOLATIONS IN THE AREAS <br />OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, SPEEDING, AND VEHICLE <br />OCCUP ANT RESTRAINT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it accepts a grant from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles in <br />the amount of $46,166 for use by the Police Department for comprehensive enforcement <br />of violations in the areas of driving under the influence (DUI), speeding, and passenger <br />and commercial vehicle occupant restraint. <br /> <br />2. That the sum of $46,166 is hereby appropriated in the FY 2007-2008 <br />Grants Fund, <br /> <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2007-2008 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $46,166. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 9, 2007. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
