<br />d. High quality architectural design and building materials for an employment <br />center <br />e. Compatibility with adjacent development and city policies <br /> <br />Sec. -10-50.1. Definitions. <br /> <br />The following words. term s and phrases, whcn used in this division, shall have the <br />mcanings ascribed to them in this section, cxcept where the Cl>ntext clearly indicates a differcnt <br />meanmg: <br /> <br />Front Fa~'ade. The main public face ofa building. <br /> <br />Hori~on/al Mixed-Use. Different types of complementary uses located in separate buildings with <br />easy pedestrian access between them. <br /> <br />Mixed-Use Employment Cen/er. A planned development that is primarily designed to contain <br />oftice and other non-industrial employment uses, integrated with complementary uses such as <br />retail. lodging, multi-family residential, etc. <br /> <br />Modified Grid. A grid of streets that is altered due to topography or other site features, but <br />continues to maintain a high level of connectivity for vehicular and pedestrian tramc. <br /> <br />Vertical Mixed-Use. Different types of complemcntary uses within the same building (e.g., <br />llflicc m residential on the' upper Homs above retail on the ground t1oor). <br /> <br />W"lk"ble. An outdoor envirlll1ll1ent that is attractive, safe, and secure for the pedestrian and <br />which promotes walking betwecn different buildings or uses on the site. <br /> <br />Tandem Parking. A parking configuration where vehicles are stacked horizontally in rows and <br />only the ends of the rows of vehicles are accessible. This configuration is generally used for <br />valet parking, parking garages or other situations where vehicles will be unused for a significant <br />period of time. <br /> <br />Open Space. The outdoor area within a development that is designed and intended for use and <br />enjoyment by the residcnts/users of thc development and possibly the general public. Open <br />space shall be substantially free of structures, but may contain such improvcments as are in the <br />finally approved development plan. <br /> <br />Sec. -10-50.2. District Applicability. <br /> <br />(a) DistricI LOCi/lion. An MX/EMP district shall be designated in accordance with <br />the' eily codc and where Cllnsislcn, with the City's Cllmprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />~ <br />
