<br />ORDItWC[ ...?00~01 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE REFUNDING OF $19,532.45 TO DAIL'S <br />HARDWARE, INC., FOR BUSINESS PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES <br />ERRONEOUSLY PAID THEREON DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2006. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That the Commissioner of the Rcvenue has determined that an erroneous <br />assessment of business personal property taxes on the assets of Dail's Hardware, Inc., <br />occurred during calendar year 2006 as a result of the inaccurate reporting of the <br />taxpayer's assets. <br /> <br />2. That, as a result of the erroneous assessment, Dail's Hardware, Inc., is <br />entitled to a refund of business personal property taxes in the amount of $19,532.45 under <br />the provisions of Section 35-12 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988). <br /> <br />3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the payment to Dail's Hardware, <br />Inc., 01'$19,532.45 to refund the erroneous assessment as described above. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 28, 2006. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
