<br />oji\UiNANCE. ?OOj;oJo64_ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING ~ 12-143 TO PERMIT THE <br />REPLACEMENT OF THE CITY MANAGER WITH A DESIGNEE ON THE <br />MUNICIPAL FINANCE COMMISSION. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; <br /> <br />I. That S 12-143 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 12-143. Composition; appointment of members. <br /> <br />The commission shall consist of nine (9) members. The city manager or his <br />designee and the chief financial officer of the city shall be nonvoting ex officio members <br />of the commission, and the remaining seven (7) members shall be appointed by the city <br />council. Of the seven (7) so appointed, two (2) be members of city council, and the <br />remaining five (5) members shall be either residents or property or business owners <br />within the city or shall be employed in the city. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on July 25, 2006. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
