<br />. <br /> <br />apply, mutatis mutandis, to bicycles_and mopeds operated under similar emergency <br />conditions by law enforcement officers. <br /> <br />Sec.22-175 Lights and reflectors on mopeds. <br /> <br />Every moped, when in use between sunset and sunrise shall be equipped with a <br />headlight which shall emit a white light visible in clear weather from a distance of at least <br />500 feet to the front and with a red reflector on the rear which shall be visible from a <br />distances of at least 600 feet to the rear when directly in front of lawful lower beams of <br />headlights on a motor vehicle. Such lights and reflector shall be of a type approved by <br />the superintendent. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-214. Brake on moped, motorized push scooter. <br /> <br />(a) Every moped when operated upon a highway shall be equipped with a <br />brake which will enable the driver to make the braked wheels skid on dry, level, clean <br />pavement <br />(b) Every motorized push scooter when operated upon a street shall be <br />equipped with a brake adequate to control the movement of and to stop such moped or <br />motorized push scooter. Such brakes shall be maintained in good working order. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-391. General rule as to reckless driving. <br /> <br />Irrespective of the maximum speeds herein provided, any person who drives a <br />vehicle, including a motor vehicle, bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, <br />electric power-assisted bicycle, moped or motorized push scooter upon a highway <br />recklessly or at a speed or in a manner so as to endanger life, limb, or property of any <br />person shall be guilty of reckless driving. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-688. Mopeds, motorized push scooters; safety devices for protection of <br />operator and passengers. <br /> <br />(a) Every person operating or riding on a moped or motorized push scooter on <br />a public street or highway shall wear a face shield, safety glasses or goggles of a type <br />approved by the superintendent or have his moped equipped with safety glass or a <br />windshield at all times while operating such vehicle, and operators and passengers <br />thereon shall wear protective helmets of a type approved by the Superintendent <br /> <br />(b) Every person operating a motorized push scooter on a public street or <br />highway shall wear a helmet meeting the standards of the superintendent or of the <br />Consumer Product Safety Commission, if the superintendent does not establish such <br />standards. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(c) Any person who knowingly violates any such ordinance shall be guilty of a <br /> <br />
