<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />vehicle upon a highway with any sign, poster, colored or tinted film or sunshading <br />rnaterial or other colored or nontransparent material upon the windshield, front or rear <br />side windows or rear windows of such motor vehicle, other than a certificate or other <br />paper required to be placed by law or which may be permitted by the superintendent of <br />state police. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-801. Authorized Generally. <br /> <br />(b) For the purposes of this section, a motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer shall <br />be presumed to be abandoned if: <br />(I) It lacks either a current license plate or a valid state inspection certificate <br />or sticker and; <br />(2) It has been at a specific location for four (4) days without being moved. <br /> <br />Sec.23-46. Prohibition against open storage on certain property. <br /> <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, except within a fully enclosed <br />building or structure or otherwise shielded or screened from view, on any property zoned <br />or used for residential purposes, or on any property zoned for commercial or agricultural <br />purposes, any motor vehicle, trailer or semi-trailer, (I) which is not in operating <br />condition; or (2) which has been partially or totally disassembled by the removal of tires <br />and wheels, the engine or other essential parts required for operation of the vehicle; or (3) <br />which lacks either a current license plate or a current state inspection decal. <br /> <br />Sec.37-44. Maintenance and inspections of public vehicles. <br /> <br />(b) Vehicles acquired for use as taxicabs and other public vehicles shall be <br />inspected annually by the city, if they are no more than seven (7) years old, nor have <br />more than one hundred thousand (100,000) actual vehicle miles. Taxicabs and other <br />public vehicles shall be inspected every six (6) months if they are more than seven (7) <br />years old or have more than one hundred thousand (100,000) actual vehicle miles. An <br />inspection fee of forty dollars ($40.00) shall be paid shall be charged for each annual or <br />semi-annual inspection. Each vehicle shall be inspected to ensure that it has current state <br />inspection and State Corporation Commission decals. With respect to taxicabs, the <br />vehicle shall also be inspected to ensure that there is a working certified taximeter, that <br />rates are conspicuously posted, and that the exterior dome and meter flag lights are <br />operational. No taxicab or other public vehicle shall be placed into service or allowed to <br />remain in service until any defect or violation has been corrected. Upon correction of any <br />defect or violation, the vehicle shall be reinspected by the city prior to placing the vehicle <br />into service. A reinspection fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be charged for each <br />reinspection until the vehicle is placed into service. <br />
