<br />. Sec. 22-80. Combinations of tractor trucks and semitrailers, etc. <br /> <br />(a) In the case of a combination of a truck or tractor truck and a trailer or <br />semitrailer, each vehicle constituting a part of such combination shall be registered as a <br />separate vehicle, but, for the purpose of determining that gross weight group into which <br />any such vehicle falls pursuant to section 22-78, the combination of vehicles of which <br />such vehicle constitutes a part shall be considered a unit, and the aggregate gross weight <br />of the entire combination shall determine such gross weight group. The license fee for a <br />trailer or semitrailer constituting a part of such combination shall be seventeen dollars <br />($17.00); provided, however, if such trailer or semitrailer exceeds a gross weight of <br />(4,000) pounds such fee shall be twenty-two dollars ($22.00). <br /> <br />(b) In determining the license fee to be paid for a truck or tractor truck <br />constituting a part of such combination the fee shall be assessed on the total gross weight <br />and the tax per one thousand (1,000) pounds applicable to the gross weight of the <br />combination when loaded to the maximum capacity for which it is registered and <br />licensed. There shall be no deduction from this fee for the fee on the trailer or semitrailer <br />in the combination. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-83. Date assessment and collection of fee to begin. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The commissioner of the revenue shall begin to assess and the city treasurer will <br />collect the license fees imposed under this article beginning January first of each year. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-85. Penalty for late payment of fee. <br /> <br />If any license fee imposed by this article is not paid by June 5th of any license <br />year, or in case of a motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer purchased or acquired thereafter, <br />within thirty (30) days of the date of purchase or acquisition of same, there shall be added <br />to such license fee a penalty of ten (10) percent of the amount of the license fee or ten <br />dollars ($10.00), whichever is greater, to be assessed and paid along with the license fee <br />as part thereof. Interest shall accrue at a rate of ten (10) percent per annum on the first <br />day following the due date and each month thereafter until paid in full. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-87.1. Refund for unused portion of license fee. <br /> <br />(a) Any person paying a license fee on a vehicle under the requirements of <br />this article shall be entitled to a refund upon furnishing proof, satisfactory to the <br />commissioner of the revenue, of disposal of the vehicle or of the change of the vehicle's <br />garaging to another jurisdiction. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(b) The amount to be refunded to such person shall be one-half (1/2) of the <br />amount paid if disposed of or garaged in another jurisdiction between January 1 and June <br />
